Our guided tour of the Louvre was great, in large part due to our phenomenal guide. Polina was knowledgeable, personable, and adapted to our needs. Elevators would have been difficult to find and the sheer size of the museum would have made it difficult to find what we wanted to see if not for Polina’s guidance.
Notre Dame Cathedral was another place with remarkable accessibility features. The entrance did have one step, but we were simply diverted in through the exit and there was no problem. The most impressive feature was a collapsible marble staircase that converted into a lift so wheelchair users are able to access the back of the church.
